February Carmine Box!!

SO EXCITED RIGHT NOW.  I have had a terrible day so far (still am) uni-wise, but I came home to this at the door...and everything seems about 45.7% better!  So instead of rushing work and e-mailing teachers, I took pictures, resized and bordered them, had a play with my new toys, and am now updating my blog. :D

I never usually do beauty box posts as I think everyone does them, and they're always the same products/different photographer.  HOWEVER, that may be the case, but I do still love reading them so maybe my logic doesn't work!  So maybe I'll start doing them, as I do subscribe to any beauty box I can find!  So, who cares....here goes!

There were three full sized products in this box: a nail varnish, a body wash, and a steamcream moisturiser.  AND a sixth 'bonus' item of a perfume sample.  This has to be the best tenner I've ever spent!

Although I love this product, the colour I received left me a little sad-faced. I have pictured it here next to Barry M's 'shocking pink', and as you can see, there's a too-similar resemblance.  I lovelovelove the colour, but I don't really want two of the same.  I can't decide if I'll do a swap yet.

Although body washes tend to be the disappointment of a beauty box for most people, I'm really excited about this.  I am AMAZED with the 'Balance Me' face oil from last month's box, so super excited to try this.  It claims that because of the shea butter inside, it means moisturising after your shower is not necessary!  I love anything shea butter (I use shea butter toilet roll) as it's all good for you, and smells delish.  HOWEVER, the whiff from the tube I got was slightly lavendery: ooooh nooooo.  I hate.  We'll see, it might be different in the shower!

I'm looking forward to seeing what other tin designs everyone got!  How pretty!  I think this is just an intense all-natural all-over moisturiser. It contains (here goes): oatmeal infusion, orange flower water, almond oil, lavender oil, organic jojoba oil and cocoa butter.  It could smell of cocoa butter, but ooooh noooo it stinks a bit lavendery.  It feels incredibly lovely though...what's a girl to do.

This shade is absolutely perfect for me.  I quickly swiped it on just for the sake of a photo on here...probably should've made a bit more effort for neatness!  Did we all get the same shade?

This smells beautiful which I'm happy about, as I'm quite a fussy perfume person!  Really light and flowery.  It's described as fruity floral with top notes of green leaves, complimented by peony flower, red currant, geranium and heliotrope and undertones of warm amber.

What a strange thing to go in a beauty box, eh?  I'm so excited to try this!  I suffer from very weak gums so I tend to purchase gum strengthening toothpastes, but I occasionally have a break and o for a whitening one.  This is apparently a celebrity tool, so I can't wait to see the results!
So overall I am SOOOOOO pleased with this box!  Even if I'd hated it, I'm incredibly happy with the value for money!  I love absolutely everything in it, and am excited to try it all.  Carmine is probably my favourite beauty box of the lot (products, value for money, customer service etc.) and it definitely hasn't let me down with this box!
Did anyone get anything different from me?  What do you think of the items?

CUPCAKES!

Hello!
I just had to do a post on some cupcakes I bought the other day.

I've don't really understand this cupcake craze to be honest.  I get the food - but cupcakes are everywhere...cupcake shaped tins, cupcake jewellery, cupcake clothes, cupcake mugs, cup cake tea cozies, cupcake tattoos EVERYWHERE.  I've got nothing against it...but where has this come from from!?
But anyway, I'm loving this bakery on Canterbury high street that do four (FOUR!) cupcakes for £2.45 (TWO POUNDS FORTY-FIVE!) and they look and taste uhhhh-mazing!  I also picked up a ginger bread man and some cherry 7UP to see what it was like.
I also bought my friend a birthday cake from there (AN ENTIRE BIRTHDAY CAKE!) for £2.95 (TWO POUNDS NINETY-FIVE FOR A CAKE!!!) and they added a free (FREE!) 'Happy Birthday' sign (FREE!)....sorry.
Excitement over.
I am currently sat doing uni work and am being distracted very easily.  I like to work in the library as I feel bad being on facebook in there when the computers are needed...but I'm sat at home so I'm browsing blogs and all sorts.

Today is hell.  I hate my uni course so so much and I'm having to do a presentation tomorrow on the French economy....a subject that really bores me. & I'm working with another girl who's done loads for it already so I also feel extremely pressured.  Only about 2-3 months left and then it's goodbye to uni forever!  I cannot wait to have a life again.

That is all, bye bye xxx

BarryM Bold Black waterproof eyeliner

I went to watch 'The Vow' the other day, and after the film we planned to spend the day in Maidstone, have dinner etc.  As I knew it was a cry-uncontrollably film, I planned to take my eye makeup to reapply after the film as there was a long day ahead.  However, I forgot it so emergency eyeliner purchase was needed.  I planned to just buy the cheapest one I could find as I have too many eyeliners as it is.  However, my eyes then fell across this:
I know the photo isn't all that clear, but it does state that it's waterproof.  Waterproof, trustworthy Barry M, £2.49....couldn't go wrong.

SO, I decided to apply this waterproof mascara before the film, as you would.  It went on JET BLACK!!  Too black, really!  The black eyeliner of my metal-goth-wannabe-teenage self's dreams.  It went on incredibly softly and easily too.  I know my black pencil eyeliners and I have never seen anything so intense!

As predicted I was sobbing throughout the film.  I was dabbing at my eyes constantly.  Waterproof or not, this would be a messy result.

The film finished and I ran to the loos.  NOT A SMUDGE.  & not a chance of it fading a smidgen.

Every girl needs this in their life.

NOTD: Barry M - Navy

This is one of my favourite nail varnishes, and quite a popular one I think.  My camera hasn't shown it's best side, but it's a dark metallic blue.
It only requires two coats, and lasts me about two days without [badly] chipping.
I know some people don't like the consistency of Barry M nail paint's.  However this one is very different from the others.  It's extremely thin and watery which, although I think it goes on a lot easier and dries faster (and maybe why it lasts longer), I have trouble with it as it will quickly drip off the stick part of the brush so I have to be fast!
£2.99 from Boots and Superdrug.

Thanks for reading - hello new followers :)

PS: May I promote that smoothie in the photo too - it's the Innocent one in the dark purple carton.  I think it has pomegranate and acai berries in it.  2 for £4 in Tesco.  Soo scrummy, and 1 of your 5 a day in a glass!

eBay Haul

When I check my bank account and feel sick at the sight of how empty it is thanks to buying food, paying rent and bills, and just the odd treat here and there.... I decide to buy something on eBay to  make me feel better!  Maybe selling something on eBay would be the better option...but, naaah!  This was the result of the most recent retail therapy sesh which I gave a jewellery theme.

£1.08 free P&P

£1.33 free P&P

£1.37 free P&P

£1.66 free P&P

£1.28 free P&P

£1.30 free P&P

£1.09 free P&P

This ALL came to less than £10.  & here's how!
Step 1: Type 'necklace' into the search bar and search it.
Step 2: Sort by Lowest Price and P&P first.
Step 3: Select 'Buy It Now'.
Step 4: Browse (best stuff is usually page 4 onwards), and see bracelets/rings/earrings etc. on the 'more items' bit of an item you select.
All the jewellery I purchased came from Hong Kong, and took around a month to get to me.  However, at the price....so not an issue!  Some of the stuff I'd expect to see in Topshop with a £15 price tag!

On a side note, just caught up on a bit of Corrie from weeks ago.  Watched Becky crash the wedding.  AMAZING.

That's all for now!  Hi and thank you to my new followers :)
Bye bye xxx

Primark Haul

The other day I went to the Primark in Margate.  I just thought I'd do a post of all the things I got :)

I absolutely love the pale cardigan, yet with most Primark cardies, I find the sleeves become so baggy.  This has happened with this one already after about three days wear. Still love it though - all's forgiven!  Black was £10, pinky beige £14.

I used to be totally anti-skull, considering them quite depressing...yet now, I've jumped on the bandwagon and can accept they're in fashion.  I'm also loving sugar skulls!  A bit of bright colours/girliness with a scary skull is quite a nice combo I think.  So the first scarf is very popular it seems...I've seen a lot of bloggers purchase it (in different colours).  The second one is super long and I adore the pattern!
First £3, Second £4.

I love the colour of these earrings!  Bold enough, I also don't feel too bad wearing them for work.

This ring makes a perfect combo with the gold earrings from above.  What do you think of these joined rings?  I love them if they're open and therefore a bit more delicate, like this one.  I don't remember the price...maybe £2?

I think this fella was in the sale for £1.50....I totally don't remember.

The above two are hair bobbles if it isn't clear.  £1.50 and 50p, I think.

Not normally my cuppa tea, but I accidently named him Bruno, so had to buy him.  Fortunately, he didn't have a price on so when I got to the till I got him for the bargainous price of £1 - ha!  I have actually worn him with a plain black dress and it didn't look too bad!

I bought this as it was in the sale for 50p, however, I must accept the fact that I will never suit these things. My big cuddly male crocodile is currently donning it, and looks a spectacle.

I always pick up a few pairs of knicks when I go to Primark.  French knickers are my favourites but I couldn't find any!!  Also been loving thongs recently so picked up two navy ones (and I own no navy bras...hmm).  & those Big Bird knickers are so comfy!  I think they were all between £1-£1.70 each.

Not tried the leggings yet (they were £4.50), but the body shaping tights for £2.50 are a repurchase and are just as good as any £6+ ones I've purchased.  Can anyone reccommend any others?

The last set of rings were from Matalan, but only other purchase of the day so thought they deserved a plonk on the end.

Let me know what you think & thanks for reading!

NOTD: ELF - Berry Pink

I have sooo many nail varnishes that I forgot that I have some of them.  So I'm going to do NOTD's so I actually use different ones and get to show them off.
This one is definitely a favourite colour for my nails; it's a soft, slightly metallic and classic pink, and it doesn't chip too easily either!  £1.50 too!  EEEEeeeloveit.

Get to know me.

Hellooo,
so I decided as I'm starting out new with this blog I'd like you to get to know my makeup lifestyle a bit.  A bit of a beauty-themed get to know me.
I have so many posts planned so I thought I'd do this before I get going!
So here goes, and byeeee x

SKINCARE

-How many times do you wash your face daily?

Once… Either in the morning in the shower, or before bed in the shower.  Otherwise I just make up wipes to wipe it clean.  I KNOW….

-What skin type do you have? (dry, oily, combo)

Combination, I think.

-What is your current facial wash?

Garnier Soft Essentials Cream Wash.  It’s for dry and sensitive skin…but I use it as I’m funny with things on my face...I hardly use it to be honest.  I prefer plain water.

-Do you exfoliate?

Occasionally.  I only exfoliate my face if it’s in a face mask which I only do rarely.  For my body I use  Garnier Body Tonic Sugar Scrub.

-What brand do you use?

Garnier for most of my skin care.

-What moisturizer do you use?

Nivea for my face.  The general face, body, hands one.  Garnier Body Tonic for my body – amazing stuff!!

-Do you have freckles?

In the summer a few very pale ones pop up on my nose and forehead.

-Do you use eye cream?

No.  I used one once, can’t remember the brand, but it made my eyes quite sore…so always been a bit scared.  Care to recommend any?

-Do you or did you have acne prone skin?

Never have.  I only really break out on my chin with one or two spots quite rarely.

-Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?

I don't think so... Is that the thing in butter?

MAKE-UP

-What foundation do you use?

I switch around so much.  At the moment, my favourite is GOSH X-Ceptional Wear.

-How about concealer?

Natural Collection cream concealer.  £1.95 and the best concealer I’ve EVER used.  Please everyone go out and give it a go, now!

-Do you know your undertone color?

No...that's bad, isn't it?

-What do you think of fake eyelashes?

Extreme love/hate relationship.  I love them, but they just look absolutely ridiculous on me. :(  I actually cut my real eyelashes the other day because I decided it was a fabulous idea to cut some ridiculously long fake one's down whilst they were on my eye.  I ripped them off in a huff.

-Did you know that you are suppose to change your mascara every 3 months?

Yes, but does anyone listen to that?

-What brand of mascara do you use?

Blink + Go is the best I’ve ever tried for length.  However, I will always have a stash of a random selection of Maybelline mascaras – they’re fabulous for the price.  My favourite is the Colossal Volume one.

-Sephora or MAC?

MAC.

-Do you have a MAC Pro-card?

No.

-What makeup tools do you use in make up application?

Foundation brush, face brush, bronzer brush (which I use for blusher), eyeshadow brush, angled eyeshadow brush, crease brush, eyelash curlers.

-Do you use make-up base/primer for the eyes?

Yeah, I use the ELF eyelid primers…work a treat.

-For the face?

Definitely.

-What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)?

I love browns/nudes/golds best.  I also love a good black as well.

-Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?

Both.  Pencil underneath, and a very thin line of liquid on top lash line (check out 17 Liquid Eyeliner – the brush is soooo thin) or a thicker line to look more made-up.

-How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?

Not that often to be honest…

-What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?

I like them.  They seem to be more pigmented, and nice to add to other colours.

-Do you use mineral makeup?

I have used a mineral foundation, lipstick, eyeshadow, and eyelid primer.  I’m very impressed…but I haven’t chosen to “go mineral”.

-What is your favorite lipstick?

I’m trying to get into lipstick more as I haven’t got many.  Marshmallow by 17 Lasting Fix is my favourite at the moment.

-How about lipgloss?

I like Natural Collection Mango & Papaya for a bit of umf and it tastes beautiful.  I also love the Cargo Classic lip gloss in Las Vegas.

-What is your favorite blush to use?

17’s First Kiss!

-Do you buy your makeup on ebay?

Nope.  I have bought bulk buys of mascara in the past.

-Do you like drugstore makeup?

Yes.  I’m a student.  I do use a bit of MAC though.  I use beauty boxes to get my fix of higher-end products!

-Do you go to CCO's? (cosmetic company outlets)

No.

-Did you ever consider taking make-up classes?

Not really.  I’d like it to be more of a hobby than a lesson.  And so long as I don’t have an orange face and foundation lips I think I’m safe without them.

-Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?

No, I spend far too long in the bathroom.

-Name a makeup crime that you hate?

People with obviously perfect skin who have caked their skin in foundation (mainly younger girls just entering the make up world).

-Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick, eyeshadow) or neutral ones?

Neutral.

-Which celebrity always has great make up?

Sienna Miller!  I am so envious of her.

-If you could leave the house using just ONE make up item, what would you use?

Mascara.

-Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?

I could if it was literally to go to the shop around the corner for some bread.  But that’s it.  I’m alright wearing very little e.g. tinted moisturiser and a tint of blush, but in that case my eyes have to be quite done up.

-Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?

Not really, no.  My eyes just lose everything.

-In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?

I don’t want to say they’re the BEST…but I do know I’m always safe with Maybelline.

-What do you think of Makeup??

Can’t stand the stuff.
