Balance Me & Burts Bees Haul

I don't know whether to thank her or not, but Sandra: Beauty Balm wrote a post about Waitrose's Balance Me deal...buy any two facial skincare products and get a free face mask worth £18!  It was on the top of my to-do list for the next day as I have absolutely adored the Balance Me products that I've tried. Unfortunately the deal finished yesterday...so sorry, but I saved you a few pennies.  Or, a LOT...thank goodness my loan has just come through and I've just gone full-time at work.  Sheesh this stuff is pricey!!   Or at least it is for someone who usually spends no more than a fiver on skincare.

I have tried the Radiance Face Oil before when a sample came in a Carmine Box (RIP), and I absolutely adored it.  This 30ml bottle cost £30.  Ouch...but worth it.

& I also picked up the Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm which cost £25 for 125ml (and a 'Balance Me' branded muslin cloth) as it was the only other thing that really appealed of their facial skincare.  I am currently using Superdrug's Vitamin E hot cloth cleanser that cost about a fiver, and loving it...so it will be interesting to see the difference.  I know people got it in last month's JolieBox, but they screwed up my payment and gave me a number to phone to sort it out, but part of me thinks it's a sign I should cut down on beauty boxes.  Did anyone get it and love it?

And the Radiance Face Mask would have cost £18 for 75ml but I got it for free in the deal.  Super duper excited to try it!

Waitrose are also doing a deal on Burts Bees products...I don't remember what it was, but everything was reduced!  So I picked up a tinted lip balm in 'Pink Blossom' which was £3.59.

NOTD: Rimmel 60 Second '405 Rose Libertine' and Elf 'Twinkle'

This photo does this combo no justice which is a shame as I think this is definitely a favourite nail-do for me, so I thought I'd post it anyway.

'Rose Libertine' is an amazing polish.  It is quite a thick consistency and requires only one coat, which is totally opaque.  I used three coats of 'Twinkle' on top because I wanted lots of sparkle, but just one coat is nice and subtle and totally do-able.

I was also amazed that I have worn this for one week, and it has remained absolutely 100% chip free. I'm not sure which of the colours are to get the credit for that.

That's all. x

Maybelline EyeStudio Duo: 80 Cosmic Black

Today I'm wearing this eyeshadow, and it's been a favourite for a while, so I thought I'd do a review.  On looking for it on the typical makeup websites, I found a limited selection on colours on only the Superdrug website...so I thought I best get this post up before it's discontinued!  All colours may still be in shops...  I hate the need to discontinue items! :'(

Anyway, this is in a shade called 'Cosmic Black' which is half a shimmery black with silver and blue shimmer, and half a pink shade with green and brown pigmentation in there and gold and pink shimmer.  The pink can be used as a highlight, but I find it slightly too pigmented for my skin tone.

This is definitely a favourite as I think the two colours compliment each other well and can make a fabulous smokey eye, or a classy everyday look.  I also love it as the pigmentation is fantastic, applies well with a brush, and it does not drop all over my cheeks during application, like the loose powders.

Today I have had a 30 minute walk in the rain (no umbrella) and then took the above pictures.  This eyeshadow is weatherproof!  I definitely reccommend!

April GlossyBox - Natural Edition

AAAH I have been so poor with this blog lately: updating and reading yours.  I have a dissertation to do, exams to revise for, and a full time job.  I'm stupid, I know.  May 22nd it'll all be over, and I can't wait to do this blogging thing properly!

ANYWAY.  April GlossyBox - OMG.  I love it!!!!  I had no idea it was going to be themed this month (see, properly out of it!), and when I saw it was all natural non-animal-tested products I was over the moon.  & absolutely every item in here is a winner!

The box is 100% biodegradable which I think is a fab touch.  It has a beautiful hand-made-paper effect, and inside is filled with natural browns and greens.

Caudalie Vinosource SOS Thirst-Quenching Serum
This serum is to go on underneath moisturiser before applying makeup.  I am absolutely loving it, it feels really great on and smells nice.  It contains absolutely 0% naughty products such as parabens and sulphates.  I won't go too into it as I'll do a review sooner or later.  This serum is £29 for a 30ml bottle, and this is a 10ml sample.

Inika Cosmetics Certified Organic Eyeliner
I got this eyeliner in shade 'Sapphire' which is a dark very wearable blue.  It's amazing - I can wear it 18hrs and it doesn't budge!  Definitely a new favourite.  It is organic, and vegan-friendly.  This is a full size product and costs £11.75 which is pricey, but cheaper than MAC and fantastic quality that doesn't need going over throughout the day.  Review coming soon!

Monu Professional Skincare Enriched Body Cream
This may be my favourite item in the box.  I love skin creams/lotions/oils, and this one certainly does it's job!  It's for all skin types which is strange for Glossy Box - I have a pile of soaps and lotions samples for dry or aging skin and it drives me insane.  But this one is just right.  It contains marine collagen, and vitamins A, E and B5.  I put it on in the morning after a shower and automatically feel so so soft, and 18hrs later when I go to bed I still feel super smooth, and it lasts the next day too.  I have to review this, and may have to force myself to save up for the full 200ml tub for £23.

Figs & Rouge Lip, Face & Body Balm
I love the packaging of this balm.  I got it in Peppermint (& Tea Tree) and it smells exactly like a Burts Bee's lip balm if you know that scent.  I have only used it as lip balm, and it's beautiful.  It is soft so no finger digging required, and has a nice waxy texture.  & it's made in Chester, my home city, so it's automatically amazing.  This is full size, and costs £3.29 in stores.

Phillip B Drop Dead Straightening Balm
I have yet to try this, but definitely will do.  If it stops me applying extra heat to my hair that's wonderful.  I just need the chance to use it, as in my job I never know until I turn up whether or not I'll be serving food...and tying my hair back won't help me know how great the product is really.  It's a 15ml sample, but a full size 178ml bottle would cost £17.

So, overall, well done Glossy Box.  This box has to be my favourite so far as for the first time ever I have wanted everything in it.  & the natural cruelty-freeness of the products is absolutely perfect.  Why can't all products be like this?  This box gets a 20/10 from me!

FlutterFace rings!

I'm sorry for my lack of posts lately.  Final term of final year of uni and all that jazz.  Fortunately I can see the end now though, so I'm a lot more relaxed about it all and not upset and stresses like I was mid-year!

Anyway, I had to do a post about these rings that I purchased from eBay.  Flutter Face do a range of dictionary-definition rings...I bought three with the words 'happy', 'laugh' and 'confidence'.  I also bought the cartoon ring with the couple on it.  She flung the last one in the line in for free!  I messaged her asking if it was a mistake but it was just a sign of thanks for my purchases....how nice is that!?  I love sellers like that, I really do.

I love the little bag they came in too - I still keep them in there!

This is just so you can see the size of them.  I wore the 'confidence' during my French oral exam.  I'm a bit of a sucker for things like that...I know full well the ring doesn't have magic confidence waves in it that zap into my brain, but I'm good at conning myself that because I'm wearing it I will be more confident.  The whole lucky penny theory I suppose.

Visit the seller's shop HERE
The rings are currently selling for £2.99+99p P&P.
FlutterFace also sells some other pretty vintage-style jewellery too!

That's all for now!  I'll try and get some review posts up soon. :)  Lots of love! xx

ELF Haul, with their Mystery Box!

Recently ELF did a special deal for reaching so many likes on Facebook...300,000 maybe?..where with a minimum order of £10 they gave a mystery parcel worth a minimum of £10.  I've done a deal like that before and wasn't overly impressed with the products I got...but this time I'm super chuffed!!

I'll start off with what I bought and follow on with the added treats...  I apologise for the glitter in some of the photos.  I was making someone's birthday card and glitter just got everywhere!

Eyelid Primer £1.50
I love this eyelid primer, so much I bought two.  They do coloured ones, but I don't quite understand them? & this works perfectly!!  I definitely recommend because look at the price!

Mineral Eyeshadow: Elegant £3.50
If ELF ever die as a company, I will literally spend however many hundreds of pounds on buying their entire stock of this.  It's such a pretty pale, shimmery colour that is perfect for an everyday look, and perfect for work too!  & it stays on all day with the above primer.  & guys have complimented me on it, the male species!  Please don't buy this, it's all for me!

Foundation Brush £1.50
My current amazing Champneys foundation brush is dying on me, so I bought this for when it really does pop it's clogs.  I have used this before, and £1.50 it's really good, and nice and soft.

Shimmer Eyeliner Pencils: Plum Passion & Iconic Ivory £1.50 each
I've recently got a purple streak in my fringe so to compliment it I've been wearing either a little bit of purple eyeshadow, or a purpley lipstick.  So, I thought I'd invest in a purple eyeliner.  & I don't own a white eyeliner so I bought one too.  I like shimmery eye makeup too.

Luscious Liquid Lipstick: Pink Lemonade £1.50
I've never tried this product before, but I checked out some swatches and this shade looked pretty nice so I'll give it a go. :)

Nail Polish: Lilac £1.50
I hate the colour lilac.  Odd reason: my favourite type of purple is a dark, or a deep purple.  To me, lilac is a wishy washy purple wannabe and it's a colour that makes me angry.  Does anyone else have a colour that makes you kinda angry?  Anyway I've decided to give it a chance for this nail polish as I've seen a few NOTD posts with lilac nails and quite liking them....we'll see how well we get on...

Mystery Free Gifts!!

Cream Eyeliner: Punk Purple £3.50
This is the most gorgeous purple (the type I was talking about before)!!  It even comes with a little brush.  Cannot wait to use it, as it'll go with my hair beautifully haha.

Super Glossy Lip Shine: Goddess £1.50
I've used this shade before and it's really pretty, so I'm glad I got it again :)

Brightening Eye Colour: Nymph Dreams £1.50
I think these colours well go will with my mushy greeny bluey eyes, and I love natural brown tones so I got lucky here.

Bamboo Contour Brush £5.50
This is from ELF's mineral line.  I have used this already and it's amazing!  I've never used a contour brush before so I have nothing to compare it too, but it does the job so so perfectly...so if you're considering buying on, I reccommend.  & I will repurchase I think.

So my mystery gifts came to a value of £12 which I think is absolutely brilliant, and I will use absolutely everything.  Better than any beauty box haha.  Let me know if you've used anything I've bought and what you think.

Goodbye for now lovely readers xxx

NOTD: Missguided - MissTique

I wore this about a month ago so I feel I should get this post up!

This is definitely one of my favourite colours, and I get lots of compliments on it.  I don't think I've seen a dupe of this colour anywhere, so it's quite different.  It lasts incredibly well too...I think I wore it for about a week and chips were minimal.

I got this free with a magazine over a year ago, but you can buy it HERE in a set of 3 for £10 which I think is well worth it.

All for now, au revoir! x

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters: Tutti Frutti & Creme Brulee

So I thought I best get this post done before it's deemed soo last season.

I chose to pick up the two that I had already planned to buy from reading blogs before they were released over here.  I find it interesting how everyone seems to be buying two, even with the 3-for-2 deal at Boots.  Why not buy three?  Or just one?  Anyway, they are £7.99 each, and you get just about double of what I've rolled up in the above pic...not very much, huh!  As for the packaging, I really really like it.

These are the hand swatches I posted in my last haul post.  I apologise for re-using images...but it makes sense.  It's probably very clear but the one on the right is Tutti Frutti, and the left is Creme Brulee.

I think the nude colour of this is perfect.   It is extremely moisturising. It does take quite a lot of coats to get to this colour, and when you get so little product for such a high price that does worry me a tad.  But I struggle finding a nice nude lipstick so if this is the one for me, so be it.

This is a coral shade.  I have just bought a No.7 lipstick of a colour very similar to this too.  I'm not sure it's the perfect colour for me, but I do love it!  It may suit me a bit better when I get tanned a bit? I love the lip butter too as it's very pigmented, and moisturising too.  It's probably my favourite of the two.

So, cons include the high price and lack of product.  Also, longevity isn't amazing but it's a lip butter, not a lipstick...so I'll let it go.  Also, on the lighter shades I believe the pigmentation of one coat isn't fantastic?  However, the pros are well raved about now: moisturising, pigmented, gorgeous colours, gorgeous packagaing.  Would I buy again!  Most probably yes.  I may wait until a deal comes out again though.

The End.  Toodle Pip! xxx

MASSIVE HAUL: Boots, Superdrug, Primark, Lush, Ebay

Hello!  I'm haven't blogged for a while as I had my birthday on Wednesday :D  I had a fantastic night out with work friends, and I had a meal today with some uni friends so my birthday has only really just ended. :)

I have bought SO SO much recently that I could do such a massive haul it would be ridiculous.  Also, due to my massive spending spees at the moment, hauls will be very limited from now on...so I may as well save some stuff up to do some extra haul posts with.  So, this is what I bought over a few days a couple of weeks ago.

I bought my first ever China Glaze off eBay HERE.  I haven't used it yet, but the colour looks absolutely stunning (in my opinion)!

All of these were from Boots at around the £2.50-£3 mark.  I've only worn the pink ones so far but got lots of compliments on them. :)  I think the colour of the coral ones is sooo flipping pretty.  Those and the shell ones will be fantastic for summer!

I bought this with my No.7 voucher so it was £12 reduced to £8 (I think).  I ADORE the colour beyond belief and it lasts ever so well.  Definitely a new everyday favourite.  I really hope it's not limited edition...does anyone know?

With my other No.7 voucher I bought this.  It feels absolutely dry as you spray it onto the skin but when you rub it in you realise it isn't dry - very deceptive!  I do really enjoy using it though and it does the job.  I'd definitely repurchase.  As this was so long ago, I don't remember the price....£9 mark? without the voucher.  I reccommend!

Boots were also doing a tights sale.  All of them were around the 63p mark.  I bought two of the top flowery designs as I love tights like that, some with a glittery sparkle to them, and then some with tiny white polka dots.  Amazing money saver there, I think!

As you all probably know about Boot's 3-for-2 deal on nearly EVERYTHING, I decided to purchase some velcro ceramic rollers.  The super large and the super tiny were £7.99 and the medium size were £5.99.  Very expensive but I really wanted to try them out, and good ones.  I got lots of compliments when I did my hair with them...however, I did feel a bit like a lion.  I've only used them the once so far.

I bought some long hair grips to hold them in, and I'm glad I did!  The velcro did nothing to keep my hair in place.  They were around the £1.50 mark.

I jumped on the bandwagon as soon as possible with these as I was super excited about the two colours I bought, and I'm never one to be first at anything haha.  I'll do a review soon, I think.  I bought these in the 3-for-2 deal too...

...with this.  I'm loving pink nail varnishes at the moment, and I couldn't resist this.

GOSH do a sale in a lot of Superdrug's I've been in (*cough*two*cough*) with what I think are discontinued colours.  So I picked up four lipsticks for £3 each.

I thought this may be more pigmented, but it is actually a clear gloss with a slight iridescence which I had to capture in a certain light.  It may be more of a lipstick topper.  I can't remember the price...maybe £2.

I just had to purhcase this after I bought those earrings above (you so know the ones).  £1.50 I think.

I really want a silver cream eyeshadow, but when I saw this for £1 I thought I'd give it a go.  It's not as pigmented as I'd like and it doesn't build up well at all. Oh well!

I wasn't excited when these became the new craze, but I've just recently started wearing lipstick and I suddenly realise why everyone loves these lip scrubs!!  Amazing invention, and tastes lovely too!

Diss this eyeshadow and I'll diss you!  IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL!  When I was in London I finally found my first MUA stand and walked away with only this...I'm so proud of myself.  BUT LOOK AT THAT COLOUR.

I already owned the Fanta one, and loved it so I bought these three that were in Primark for £1 each.  I love them!

These were from Primark also.  The pink and purple were a set, and the green and white were a set, £2 each.  I really like them. :)

I haven't had chance to wear these yet what with the warm weather that started the day after I bought them.  For £2 I thought they were a bargain, as I already use grey knee length socks folded over my boots as 'toppers' so these are a snazzier version.

& last but not least, I bought this top for £4.  I'm really into sugar skulls, I think they're lovely.  So I thought this top had my name written all over it.  Yay.

SO, I apologise for the extreeeemly long haul.  Was it too long?  If you want reviews of anything, let me know.  I have reviews, notd, hauls etc. coming up :)

Lots of love, and byzee byes xxx
